Until that time people had been buried in the old cemetery, located not far from the Church of the Nativity of Virgin Mary. The cemetery in Kryblická Street was intended for the poor and suicides. The new cemetery is dominated by a complex with the Chapel of St Cross built by the Trutnov builder Adolf Bohatý in the neo-Romanesque style. In the loggias with the family tombs of the Trutnov industrialists there are several 19th century sculptures, and in two empty loggias there are several figurative and symbolic tombstones of stone, dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, which were brought here from the old town cemetery in 1887.
